A chance to acquire two of our very best coffees in sample pouches!

Producer Overview
Cornelio Camiña Villano is doing at 28 what generally takes decades to hone — developing difficult cultivars at extreme altitudes, and processing them in complex (and delicious) ways. His crop has been pre-sold out for the last 2 years, so we're very excited to bring you this coffee. This particular lot is Gesha Inka, a Peruvian specialty originating from Cornelio's hometown of Inkawasi. Using a washed, twice fermented process, expect a silky, dense coffee absolutely covered in tangerines, honey, a bouquet of sweet florals, and a vibrant citrus acidity the whole way through.  Read more here.

Under Ebert Huaman Villegas' leadership, Finca Artemira cultivates 15 hectares of coffee, growing varieties like Red Bourbon, Caturra, Pache, and what we have presented here, Gesha. Their coffee has earned recognition in Peruvian Cajamarca competitions and the 2023 Cup of Excellence, leading to exports to the UK, South Korea, and now the US. We are extremely excited to be one of the first to introduce this excellent farm, and display a really unique expression. Expect a variety of wines, deeper sweet notes than usual with this variety, and a bright citrus acid to balance that out. Read more here.

The Farm

Washed Gesha
Cornelio's farm, Alto Capasi in Inkawasi, runs an incredibly special estate. Focusing on more exotic varieties, the luxury (and challenge) of being at 2330 MASL (meters above sea level) gives him all the essentials to churn out top quality coffee. Pair that with a knack for unusual processes and you've got a winning farm on your hands.

Natural Gesha
Ebert Huaman Villegas runs Finca Artemira, now cultivating 15 hectares of coffee. A background in cattle, fishing, and of course coffee, he and his mother eventually took a leap into the latter after an early passing of his father. Under his current leadership, they plant a variety of quality varieties from Red Bourbon and Caturra, to many types of Gesha. Winning local Cajamarca competitions and an excellent performance in CoE 2023, he's been a rising star in Peru, and now finally arriving in USA after some significant exporting to the UK and South Korea.

The Cup

Washed Gesha
Absolutely brimming with sweetness and different florals, there's a whole world to be discovered inside of this incredibly unique coffee. While it certainly leans on a combination of mandarin, orange blossom, and lemon verbena, different brews will bring out gardenia, orange peel, even peach.

Natural Gesha
This particular lot is from his Las Palmas plot, generally presenting more distinctive flavors. His slow, patient Natural process includes washing cherries, fermentation in cold water for 10 hours, then followed by drying on raised stainless-steel beds, with a 25 day drying period. This work is evident in the cup, with a complexity hard to find outside of this variety and process. Winey liquors, brightness akin to passion fruit, and a dense, creamy body all take this to the next level of coffee.

Brewing Recommendations

Washed Gesha
A relatively easy brew to balance, I'd recommend leaning towards 1:18 at 200 temp and go from there. If you're feeling wild I would definitely recommend turning this into ice coffee, going with a 1:11 or 1:12 ratio and adding ice.

Natural Gesha
A joy to brew, like most naturals, you won't have much difficulty discovering the beauty within this coffee. I recommend brewing even a bit "cooler" than you generally might, around 195°, even down to 192 and you can build a delicately intricate cup. Start with 1:18 coffee to water, and go to 1:16 for a stronger, more present passionfruit.
